Peer-review process:

  • The Editorial Board exercises oversight of which conference proceedings appear in ENTICS by evaluating proposals submitted by the conference organizers to publish their proceedings in the series. The evaluation process includes a review of the history of the conference, the quality of its previous publications, and the reputation of the conference and of its organizers. Proposals from ENTICS editors are welcome, and each proposal is reviewed by at least two ENTICS editors, one of whom is the Managing Editor. The process for submitting a proposal to publish a conference proceedings in ENTICS is included under Information for Organizers, which appears in the menu to the left.

  • The proceedings of a conference that is published in ENTICS is peer reviewed by the conference Program Committee and its sub-reviewers. The decisions on which papers are accepted are taken by the conference itself. Conferences use varying evaluation processes: some prefer a single-blind review process, in which the authors of papers submitted for consideration are known to the Program Committee and to sub-reviewers, but the names of which PC members and sub-reviewers evaluate each paper are not revealed to the authors of that submission. Other conferences prefer a double-blind process, in which the names of authors submitting papers are not revealed to the Program Committee or the sub-reviewers who review the submission, and the names of the reviewers of each paper are not revealed to the authors. Each conference publishing its proceedings in ENTICS is required to have a clear statement of its peer review process spelled out on the webpage devoted to the particular meeting.

Policies on publication ethics:

ENTICS adheres to the guidelines promoted by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) outlining ethical publication of scientific research. ENTICS also expects the organizers of each conference whose proceedings are published in the series to follow those guidelines. Allegations of publishing misconduct involving a paper appearing in an ENTICS volume should be sent to the ENTICS Managing Editor and to the organizers of the conference in whose proceedings such conduct was evident. The ENTICS Managing Editor and a member of the organizers of the conference will evaluate the allegations and propose a mechanism for resolving the issues raised. For example, in the case of a documented claim of plagiarism, both the ENTICS listing and the archived final version of the offending paper will be marked as plagiarized.
